a story of the life of John Paton whose father married two sisters - Christian and Elizabeth Woodburn at Galston. (John was one of 23 children!) Another sister was Annie Caldwell who I think was married to a John Caldwell the brother of one of my ancestors. John Paton was born on 7 April 1843. He emigrated with many of his family to the USA and served in the Civil War.
For your instance it is the John Caldwell-Annie Woodburn connection that might be important. If we are connected I have a family tree for you!
