Every now and then a SPAMMER will come along and post something to this forum. Usually I catch those posts before they make it into the mailed digest that goes out four times each day. I do block the IPs of these guys so that they can't do it again. The reality is that I have to sleep sometimes....

My preference has always been to allow open access to interactive site features. Part of the price of freedom is risk, and when people have the freedom to post to a forum without registration we risk receiving an occasional SPAM.

For now I'll leave things as they are and see what happens. If you're like me, you hate having to register everywhere you want to ask a question. Then again, if you're like me, dealing with this crap gets old quick....

If the SPAM becomes an issue, then I'll have to switch this forum over and people will have to register to post. I'm open for any comments....
