Caldwells of Pokelly ?

Yep I was absolutely wrong.
Cowdams is just up the road towards Neilston and Glanderstoun just a bit further.
I believe there is a substantial ruined hall at Cowdams. They were probably all part of the HUGE contiguous Mure family holding. Just a couple of shacks for the younger sons.
The Mures also had land at Largs some of which (Kempisland) was granted to Thomas Caldwell of Todriggs. Its supposed to have been on Gogo Water. Consulting a modern map shows there is no farmable land (or farms) on the Gogo which appears to run through a gorge. A little further north is the Nodd and Brisbane Mains is located on it. The Brisbanes came into possession of the property of Kempisland at a later date. Whether Brisbane Mains is "Kempisland" or whether the Brisbanes were already there and acquired Kempisland on the Gogo (or wherever else) at a later date I do not know.
Kempisland is supposed to mean land over which there has been much fighting. The original auhtor seemed to think that the land had been subject to feuds. I wonder as it is situated at Largs and was probably given to the Mures for their help at the battle of Largs - that in consequence it may have been land over which a fierce part of the battle was fought.
The battle is supposed to have been a series of skirmishes up and down the beach and over headlands. I wonder if a group of Norsemen had been trapped up the valley of Gogo Water and made a day out of it.
Rowallen was a Mure property in Ayrshire and a substantial one - not directly connected to the Renfrew property.
There was another one - Pokelly near Fenwick. I seem to think that this was the "original" Mure property before they struck it lucky with the Caldwell heiress.
When my Grandfather sold his "lemonade" business in 1949 he bought a farm up near Fenwick. (Shows we still have farming instincts). I remember as a child of 5 or 6 going up to visit with my parents. It was in the area where the country is getting rougher but before getting into the moor country proper on the way to Glasgow.
We turned off the main road on to a minor sealed road and then after a short distance turned left again down a driveway to a quite large farmhouse. I don't know the property's name! From a map it is in the region of Pokelly.

I will have to write to my Aunt Mary to see if she can remember the name. I don't think it is Pokelly but my sense of history says "I wish it was".

We moved to Wales and I think my Grandfather only stayed there about 4/5 years because we always visted him at Smithfield in Riccarton when we returned on holidays.
(I don't think he was cut out to be the gentleman farmer - he was in his middle sixties when he retired)
