David
You have done a great job, I have printed off your information as it is too much just to read off the web. I will look at it in detail.
I suggest that you try and get a book on the social history of Scotland (rather than a book just covering the war and kings thing).
Unfortunately I cannot reccomend a good one to you but I know there are a few about. They generally talk about the life and times of folk through the ages and how they lived, what they earned, how they dressed, what they ate. I have a book "English Social History" by GM Trevelyan 1958 (Longmans). Its mainly about England & Wales but it has a bit about Scotland thrown in. Its quite a good book but Scotland is only an afterthought.
Knowing more about the socialhistory will give you some inspiration to stir up a real tale. :)
If I can help once I have read your story properly I will.
One of our co-producers here might know of one. :) :)
