I have noticed that a great deal of the families once out of their original country drop the naming convention and go for "current" names. Must be something about getting away from the pressure of tradition and embracing the new. Our family did it.
Lines get mixed up with others which would not otherwise have happened - I don't think it is a bad thing at all.
