The Fall 1990 issue of Caldwell Family Newsletter, published by the Caldwell Family Association (Editor mjanda@mindspring.com) identifies the second wife of Patrick Calhoun (and hence, stepmother to John Caldwell Calhoun) as Jane Craighead, sister of Rachel Craighead. The issue is fairly informative about their father, Alexander Craighead, grandfather, Thomas, and ggrandfather, Robert, all Presbyterian ministers.
