Caldwell's of Todriggs & Annanhill (near Kilmarnock) & also Kempisland (near Largs) from Circa 1366-1400 descended from Patrick of that Ilk Principal Source research by Lesley Gordon who mentions the Caldwell Papers (Maitland Club) This was a collection of documents in the hands of the Mure family of Caldwell which were published by MaitlandClub in the 19th century.

I have a copy of the document granting land at Kempisland (also known as Breed-Sorrow)to a Thomas Caldwell, son of Robert Caldwell of Todriggs, by Sir Adam Mure in 1496. The land was held until 1610.
