Pennsylvania banned slavery in 1780. So the proper term would not be plantation, but farm, as you indicate. The Gettysburg farm definitely is located in Pennsylvania.

I understand that U.S. Scot-Irish were most heavily concentrated initially in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, then in succession, their descendants spread to the Carolinas, Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio, and Indiana, and later, throughout the Deep South and West.

When Davy Crockett lost an election in Tennessee,he said to the voters, "You can go to hell. I'm going to Texas."
