In Response To: Merchant in Ennis Killen WHERE IS THAT? (Barbara Randolph)

Hi Barbara
Your prettty close. Enniskillen is a town in County Fermannagh in Northern Ireland. Castle Caldwell is there. John Caldwell bought it after becoming rich through his merchant business and changed the name to Castle Caldwell so it wasn't the source of the Name which is one of the reasons I don't attach much importance to it in the larger scheme of things, although to anyone of that line it will ofcourse have some value. I still maintain there is no chance that we are descended from any French Pirates. The Caldwell name was well established in Scotland 3 or 4 centuries before that. I think there is a strong possibility that the Viking story is true as I have heard it from more than one Good SOURCE. Yours David CALDWELL
