The last trial in Ireland for witchcraft occurred in 1711 in the County of Antrim. There were only about a half dozen trials between 1324 and 1711, all but the first with Protestants as the accused. (see, http:// odyssy. net/ users/ erica/ wicca/ ireland. htm,)

I recommend M. H. Parker's short story about a fictional Irish witchcraft trial. (http: //www. amystickalgrove. com/ BOS/ ComWrite_Stories4. shtml)

I wish I knew why so few witchcraft trials occurred in Ireland, and so many in Scotland and Germany.
