You mentioned that John Caldwell who migrated in 1727 had a brother ANDREW. My understanding is that ANDREW was born either 1692 or 1693, in or near Ballyboogan, Ireland, and migrated to Lancaster County, PA about 1717. He married a ANN STEWART and owned a tavern.

A lot has been written about this Andrew Caldwell, including confusion as to his birthdate, place of birth, and even whether he married a Martha, whose four sons included the Rev. David Caldwell (1725-1824), rather than an ANN STEWART.

I have never seen any exact date of birth for this Andrew Caldwell. I am unsure whether the references to 1792 or 1793 are based on records of baptism rather than birth. I do not know whether or not England and America were using different calendaring systems, one with the new year beginning March 25, and the other, on January 1.

I would like to know what the records reflect as to the name of Andrew'ss father and mother, occupation, and residency. Does Ballybogan refer to his place of birth or place of baptism? Was he baptized in a Presbyterian church?
