Back in the mid '80's I put together a family tree (my family) relating to the descedents of Allan Caldwell (a collier) and Janet Guthrie. They married circa 1776 and all their children were baptised at St Quivox near Ayr in Scotland.
I had some considerable help from my new-found cousins in Australia and gave one of them a copy of the tree. I have found that it has just tured up on the website of Ross Harvey Skyring who would be a third or fourth cousin.
I was a bit surprised but gratified that it has made it to the web in such detail.

The section on the Caldwell family is largely from my work. It covers my branch from the late 1770's to nearly the present. There are a good deal of loose ends and I would be pleased to hear from anyone who can "hook in". The family has been mainly resident in Scotland and Australia however I found some information last night which seemed to indicate a link to Cape Breton Island Nova Scotia.
