She came to Salt Lake City to help son, William Henry, widower, care for children, Lyda and Harrold. According to the recollections of grd Lyda West Barney, SLC, Mary Elizabeth went to live with Kate West Hill and died there.

Lyda and Kate corresponded often until Kate's death. Her daughter, Helen, and Lyda West were close in their youth and corresponded often. Kate kept notations about the family members and contributed to the family records compiled by Maud West, wife of Harrold West.

George L. is buried in Idaho. He was active in the Church of the Nazarenes, sent as a missionary
to Africa. Research into Nazarene records, Idaho resources, has not found evidence of this.
