This is a Descendancy Tree of William Caldwell, born in Virginia in 1771, married (1) Mary Clybourn and (2)Agnes unknown and died after 1860 in Kentucky.

William is presumed son of Seth Caldwell b.1745, d. Dec 1809, because:
(1.) His land was adjacent to Seth's on Buckeye Mountain in Giles Co., VA.
(2.) His marriage bond witness and surety was signed by Seth's son-in-law, Daniel Kirk.
(3.) He had a son named Seth.
Admittedly this is not strong evidence but as Courthouse fires during the Civil war destroyed vital records, it is all we have to date.
