Greetings. I have been in touch with John Caldwell in the past, who maintains or did maintain this site. We have now placed all our Caldwell relatives on another site, wikitree.com Check the following Descendency link to see our line. We are particularly interested in any info on Henry and Margaret Caldwell of Clady, Ardstaw Parish, Co. Tyrone, my gg grandparents, who were born in Co. Tyrone, but emigrated to Canada and are buried at Iroquois, ON. Any info about them or their forebears would be of tremendous interest. My mother was a Caldwell, hence the interest. Thank you so much.

I\'m finding out, through the incredible work done here, about my Caldwell lineage that comes to me via Elizabeth Caldwell-Bell. Just want to say thank you, so very much!
WTF! i\'m answering the correct letters and it still won\'t let me in. This is fucking ridiculous.
Thank you for providing all of this information about the Caldwells. I\'m distantly descended from \"William Caldwell, b. abt 1628, Glasgow & d. 1672.\" I have also visited the ruins of the church and the grounds of the Caldwell estate in Donegal. So, this website is an exceptional genealogical journey for me of this family connection - one I only recently learned about through FTDNA.
Again, thank you very much for all your work in this regard.

I read with interest the myths and legends. While I cannot confirm that this particular marker comes from the Caldwell, I share the rare T12 gene with Jesse James mother. I am descended from John and Mary Sweeten ham Caldwell of Lifford, Ballybogan, County Donegal,Republic of Ireland.

I am seeking information on the Reverend Hugh Caldwell d1789 NewtownArds, Down and married Anne Winder, d of Reverend Peter Winder & Anne Courtenay. I have 2 sons Samuel Hercules Rowley Caldwell Rev Dr & George Macartney Caldwell Dr m. Mary Cook. It is their father Hugh\'s parents I am interested in finding more about. I am on Ancestry.co.uk under garyvincentwinder. Any help is appreciated.
My great grandmother was a Caldwell. Her name was Sarah Sinia/Sina Caldwell Walker. She was born in Lumpkin County, GA. Her father was Matthias Caldwell, mother. Mary Elizabeth Hutson, married in Lumpkin County, GA. His father was Meredith B Caldwell, mother, Winnie Ovaline Woody. From research I have seen so far, his father was one David Caldwell, mother Sarah Eliza/Elizabeth Gailey. \"From the Atlanta Constitution beginning 1900 for the Historical Collections of the Joseph Habersham Chapter of the DAR Vol I 1902:
\"David Caldwell, third son of William of the Caldwell Settlement in Charlotte County VA, married Miss Eliza Gailey and settled in Abbevile district in South Carolina., By this marriage there were 4 sons;
John Elliott
Joseph David
Andrew
Meredith
(No daughter listed, but further research has yielded a dauther named Nancy G.)
The latter part of his life was spent in Lumpkin County, GA near his 2 sons, Joseph and Meredith, who had large families.
Andrew died a bachelor in Wilkes County, GA.
Major, John Elliot Caldwell, born 12/6/1798, served his native state, South Carolina, with distinction, as majot of a militia, in the day when the state had \'camp musters\' annually. He married Elizabeth Gardner and settled in Madison County, GA. He was a man of strict integrity and exerted high influence for morality and religion. he was a staunch Presbyterian and served his church 53 years as a ruling elder. he and his wife are buried in Alta Vista Cemetery in Gainesville, GA.\"
I guess my question would be, is this erroneous information?
Your kind attention to this would be greatly appreciated.

Joseph and Letitia (Britton) McCutchen had a daughter, Mary Elizabeth b.3/5/1828, d.12/20/1908 (m.1st to Frederic S. Anderson, m. 2nd to William Marlow. She is buried in Russell Cemetery, Winneshiek County, IA. The Marlow\'s had 4 children, including my great grandmother, Estella Anna Marlow,b.1866, d. 1933, m. Anton Arneson
Just thought you\'d like to know because I\'ve seen different trees showing no children - thought I\'d set the record straight.

My husband is descended from Henry and Sarah Caldwell, both born about 1822 in Ireland, immigrated to Canada about 1857. They had 13 children 5 of which were born in Ireland and the others in Canada.

The Pool, Caldwell,Pannel, Grubbs and others moved together in group and settled in Pontotoc cty. Mississippi around 1840. Thanks for sharing your research with so many.

Signing on again after an absence of some years. I\'m always searching for those connected to my great-great grandfather, Robert H. Caldwell, (b. ca 1815 - d. 1876) of County Tyrone. He was a shoemaker and a Presbyterian who married Mary Moore. In the early 1840s, they emigrated to Ontario, Canada, eventually settling in Grey County. One of their daughters, Catherine, married Lyman Smith in Buffalo, where they raised a large family.
Their son, William Robert (b. Co Tyrone 1836 - d. 1883 Durham, Ontario) was my great-grandfather. He served in the 100th Regiment of Foot and was stationed on Malta. He married a Cashel Co. Tipperary woman, Margaret Burke/Birch in Ottawa, 1867. They had 2 sons and 5 daughters.
DNA testing has helped in my research. So far, the only revelation has been a connection to three of the descendants of John Caldwell Calhoun, U.S. Vice-President during pre-Civil War times. We have done the BigY test and are enrolled in the McCarthy South of Ireland group.
Happy researching to all!
