Hello John,

I am not sure if your Ohio Shillidays are the same as mine, but I have come across the names
you are asking about. My ancestor is John Shilliday, married to Martha Jane Wright. They were
from County Down, Ireland, and settled in Portage County, Ohio.

I haven't found a connection to my ggrandpa, but there is a George Shilliday that I believe may
be a potential brother to my John in the 1880 census for Ohio, Edinburgh Twp, Portage Co. In
this census George is living with his wife, Agnes M. age 28, b. Ireland. They have George's
children by his first wife (George's 1st wife was Mary Ann Trotter) and a "Stepdaughter"
"WILHEMINA COPELAND" age 5, born N.Y. both of her parents born Ireland. This George died
in 1923 at the age of 85. I don't know if this is your same Wilhemina.

I also have an Elmer J. Shilliday of Portage County married Hattie Phile. (This I believe I found on
Ancestry.com) Elmer was born June 20, 1867. Their two oldest children were Charlie Russell
Shilliday, b. July 1896 and Clayton Shilliday b. Dec. 21, 1900. My notes indicate that Elmer J.
was the son of David B. Shilliday and Mary McNabb. David B. was brother to George Shilliday,
and their parents were Hugh Shilliday and Ellen Wilson. I also have that Hattie's parents were
Jacob Pfeil and Susan CALDWELL.

I have been trying to find out if my ancestor John is also son of Hugh and Ellen Wilson Shilliday,
but so far, no luck. I hope this has been of help to you. I have found that these Shillidays are a
confusing bunch.
