Last Rites Held for Hannah V. Anderson
FUneral services were held for Hannah V. Anderson, 88, Wednesday, Jan. 25, 1967, at 1:30 p.m. Pastor E. A. Hering conducted the services at the Immanuel Lutheran Church.
The hymns, "Rock of Ages" and "Nearer, Still Nearer" were sung by Leonard Nelson accompanied by Mrs. Margaret Wright.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Stumbo and Mr. and Mrs. Delmar Underwood were in charge of the floral tributes. Pallbearers were R.M. Anderson, Carl Lindholm, Palmer Brenholdt, Richard Lindhal, Sr., Ray Anderson and Kenneth Bergstrom.
Internment was at the Glenwood Cemetery in Ogden with Treloar-Carson in charge.
Hannah Victoria Bergstrom, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John O. Bergstrom, was born Feb. 21, 1878, in Marcy Township in Boone County. She was received into membership of the Swede Valley Lutheran Church by the Sacrament of Baptism and was confirmed at Swede Valley April 16, 1893.
She attended the Ogden Public Schools and taught country school for several years in this community. Oct. 24, 1901, she was united in marriage to Carl Henry Anderson, a pioneer Ogden merchant. The couple made their home in Ogden and God blessed them with nine children.
Mr. and Mrs. Anderson lived in Ogden where they both became members of the Immanuel Lutheran Church. Mrs. Anderson was Sunday superintendent and Sunday school teacher for many years. She was also a member of the Ladies Aid and Missionary Society.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl in 1940 and a son, Donald, who died in 1948.
Mrs. Anderson continued to reside in her home in Ogden, serving her community and her church until four and one half years ago, when she moved to the Iowa Lutheran Home in Madrid. She resided there, among friends, until her death, Sunday, Jan. 22, 1967.
