Obit from the Humeston New Era of Jan. 22, 1913:

Mrs. Meriam Caldwell, died at Leon at the age of 79 years, one month, 5 days, having been injured in a fall six weeks earlier. She was a resident of Clay township from 1855. Her husband James died Jan. 19, 1887 at the age of 58.
